This caught my attention as I opened the pantry this evening. I might use it once every couple of years. But then it is for my mother’s recipe for Christmas pudding with the rich and delicious hard sauce. But then I go to the family most holidays and don’t take it with me to carry on the tradition…..hmmmm. One second I think I don’t need it anymore and then I rethink and lean towards saving it and using it.

Back to school and students are already in week two, me? Week 3. It has been a big adjustment and the sleeping patterns are not in a good rhythm yet. BUT here is a Keep or Pitch post as just yesterday I emptied a trunk of baby clothes, handknit baby blankets, some lederhosen the boys wore in Germany and some handsmocked bonnets I made for Laura. She is going to be married in two months. Do I need to save these overalls? They looked tired and dated and I could remove the smocked insert and put them into another item of clothing but that is not going to happen. Steve helped me haul the trunk out to the curb. It just wasn’t nice. I washed all the smocked dresses and put them away but this tired pair of overalls just looked sad to me.

Nice to be recognized a few years ago. I have this hanging on my way to the laundry room. Sometimes I chuckle and it was kind of the principal to award this to me. He’s retired now. You can comment but I guess I am not ready to pitch yet. This is the type of appreciation I received at one time in my teaching career.

This is hanging on my wall in the hall with a lot of other photos and pictures. I was thinking about it today when I photographed it, hanging there. My sister gave it to me when a friend of hers cleared out their parents’ home. I have had it for a few decades.A conversation piece. Need to go look at when tourist travel was banned to Cuba so I can date it. Approximately.
