A broken off Barbie ornament head, a wooden nickel, a tag for the Metropolitan Museum of Art from who knows what year.  The book I read about what your stuff says about you really didn’t help me in the effort to pitch and downsize.  Then I come across a little copper dish, not polished, filled with assorted JUNK!  So I am photographing it. This is the type of find in an unused drawer in a little table in the living room.  Mostly untouched.  No vote necessary cause obviously it needs to be dumped.  I will take the coins out.  Who knows what the keys fit.  There is a metal plate with my eldest son’s initials from something. But other than that it’s a hodgepodge.  If one to write a short story using the objects as prompts……what character would emerge?

  1. Beautiful still life – and not to make it more difficult, but that Barbie head looks vintage!

  2. This looks like stuff that goes around in my brain sometimes.
My husband would emerge from all that! The eclectic being that he is. The keeper of EVERYTHING. No matter how inane it is, he has it…in his middle dresser drawer. That’s the place we go to when we’re looking for something.

  3. I think a variety of good stories could emerge from images like this one. Another book idea for you: Create a visual book of writing prompts, using the cool photos from your year of blogging!

  4. For some reason, I started thinking of what MacGyver would do with this stuff? Hmmm….

  5. take the picture… keep the picture electronically… wherever and let the item go to the highest bidder.
