This caught my attention as I opened the pantry this evening. I might use it once every couple of years. But then it is for my mother’s recipe for Christmas pudding with the rich and delicious hard sauce. But then I go to the family most holidays and don’t take it with me to carry on the tradition…..hmmmm. One second I think I don’t need it anymore and then I rethink and lean towards saving it and using it.
[…] Keep or Pitch post back in business, too. […]
You have so many things that are full of memories. Maybe you need to start a numbered weighting system (like 0 – 5 with 0 being the lowest emotional attachment) to help you decide what to pitch.
I like that idea. 🙂
Ah, keep it! Pass it down. Something that vintage needs to stay in the family. Could display it?
That’s too cool to pitch. That’s one to let your kids deal with eventually.
Definitely keep. But be sure to (and do this with every odd baking/cooking hardware you have) put the recipe inside or with it so that WHOMEVER receives it, doesn’t have to go looking for it or wonder what it’s for. You might even toss in some history, i believe you said something about “your mother” ….
